Summer holidays 2025 in Leipzig: Adventure and fun for all kids!
The summer holidays are in full swing and Leipzig offers children and young people an exciting program that leaves nothing to be desired. This year there are a variety of ways to spend the hottest days of the year creatively and actively. So reported Urbanite that VILLA Leipzig in particular is a place for adventurous teens (9-15 years old). Nature and outdoor experiences as well as creative workshops come into their own here, and a five-day survival experience is also offered, in which participants learn to make fire, carve and orientate themselves in the terrain. Prices start at 35 euros and children who need support are also invited to take part.
Another highlight are the free SoundLab 2025 workshops, which will take place from July 1st to 3rd in the open leisure club Rabet. Here, children and young people between the ages of 10 and 16 can try out various instruments - registration is not necessary. If you like animals and species conservation, you should definitely visit Leipzig Zoo. Entertainment is also provided here with a program that includes the “Tiny Giants” exhibition about insects and numerous hands-on activities. Entry to many activities starts at 5 euros, which is a good deal for families.
Cultural highlights of the summer holidays
The city of Leipzig has once again come up with a lot of ideas to enrich the holiday program this year. On July 8th, Clara-Zetkin-Park invites you to the traditional open-air family games festival. From 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., families can discover numerous games, sports and creative activities offered by Leipzig clubs - entry is free! There is also the Monopoly city championship from the Saxon Games Center.
If you like radio plays, you shouldn't miss the 21st summer of radio plays in the Richard-Wagner-Hain from July 8th to 16th. In addition to an international radio play competition and various performances, a family program on July 9th from 2 p.m. invites you to take part.
Diverse offers for all interests
The holiday program also includes creative offerings such as the KAOS cultural workshop for children and young people aged 6-14, which features circus, theater and more. Registration is also recommended here; the fees start at 6 euros. For the more adventurous, there is the Porsche Adventure Week with off-road tours and race track trips. The adventure workshop is also intended for kids and ensures unforgettable memories.
The city also offers the holiday pass, which gives Leipzig students between the ages of 6 and 17 reduced access to over 100 leisure, cultural and sports activities. For 10 euros (only 5 euros with the Leipzig Pass) children can let off steam to their heart's content!
Finally, we would like to point out the German National Library, where free hands-on activities such as tangram folding and nature printing workshops are offered. With a varied program for every interest, you really don't have to worry about being bored in Leipzig. So, dear parents, pack up the kids and head off for the summer holidays!
