TG Schömberg shines at the German gymnastics festival in Leipzig!

On May 29, 2025, the athletes of the TG Schömberg made their way to Leipzig to take part in the German gymnastics festival. The journey took place conveniently by bus and after the arrival the community district was moved into. The first evening was spent on Augustinerplatz, the central fairground. Here the festive atmosphere and the anticipation for the upcoming competitions ensured a good mood.

Friday was free to do the gymnasts. They were able to explore the exhibition center and take part in various interactive offers. A good start to absorb the atmosphere of the gym!

Saturday was the big competition day, and the athletes gave everything. They showed their skills in the different age groups. For the TG Schömberg there were both pleasing placements and exciting duels.

• Paul Porger (AK 13/14) - 11th place
• Ben Adler (AK 15/16) - 49th place
• Mika Hoh (AK 15/16) - 40th place
• Simon Schlegel (AK 18+) - 15th place
• Lena Hauer (AK 18+) - 19th place

The achievements of several Schömberger athletes, who placed in the top ten, were particularly gratifying: Stefanie Sauter (AK 16/17) made it with 8th place, Timm Sauter (AK 18+) finished second in second place and Martin Beamanan (AK 40+) also won a strong performance and occupied 9th place at the Germans Youth championships.

The cup competitions took place on Sunday, in which Stefanie Sauter (21st place among over 600 participants) and Lena Hauer, who also called for performance class 2.

an unforgettable experience

The gymnastics festival in Leipzig, in which a total of around 80,000 active athletes were expected, including around 5,000 international participants, was more than just a sporting event. It was held for the 13th time in Leipzig - a city that has been hosting the gymnastics festival since 1863 and where the last gymnastics festival took place 23 years ago. This large event, which took place in 40 different sports facilities, offered an impressive variety of competitions and hands -on offers, from aerobics to volleyball and beyond.

The athletes of the TG Schömberg took many new impressions home this weekend, and the gymnastics festival ended with a social get -together at the Schömberger reservoir. This not only focused on the sporting team, but also the active community of gymnasts.

The view is now looking forward to the regional gymnastics festival 2026 in Constance. It remains to be seen whether the Schömberger athletes will also perform successfully there!
