First biker service in Radebeul: Motorcyclists celebrate faith!

August 24, 2025 was the big day for motorcyclists in Saxony: More than 100 bikers from the region gathered on the festival meadow in Radebeul for a very special event - the first motorcyclist church service. Organized by the Christian Motorcyclists Association of Saxony, under the leadership of Peter Gamer and with the active support of Pastor Martin Scheiter, the event became an impressive occasion that not only touched the hearts of the motorcycle community, but also the hearts of the visitors.

The service, which had previously taken place on the market square in Radeburg for four years, was moved to the idyllic festival meadow in Altkötzschenbroda. This new ambience, close to the village green, created a pleasant atmosphere that attracted many motorcyclists. The first time that the sounds of engines and the message of faith came together in such a combination thrilled those present.

Powerful words and community spirit

Motorcyclists are known to ring in worship when they start their bikes, a powerful custom that symbolizes the connection between their passion and faith. This tradition was also present at the service in Radebeul. As in other open church services, for example at the Fuchsstein in Schönheide, the topic of the sermon, given by Pastor Scheiter, was of central importance for the community. Another service that Reinhard Richter organized was about the topic of mercy. These topics speak directly to motorcyclists and promote exchange among each other.

The biker community in Saxony is more than just a collection of people who share a love of motorcycles. They are a living community that strengthens each other and focuses on the Christian faith. Many participants value the sense of community and the opportunity to meet like-minded people. In the previous services, like this one, the inhibition threshold is lowered, which makes access to the church and to God easier.

Safe driving is the priority

A central idea for motorcyclists is safety and responsibility. The Christian faith plays an important role here and gives many people a good feeling when driving. This can be seen, for example, in the use of a motorcycle case with a guardian angel that reminds people not to drive faster than the guardian angel can fly. This combination of faith and safety ensures that bikers not only have fun riding, but also do not lose respect for the dangers on the road.

With the growing interest in climate-friendly alternatives, many motorcyclists are also focusing on new developments such as electric motorcycles. Some members of the biker community are already riding e-motorcycles and are committed to improving infrastructure to make charging easier.

Regardless of all technological advances, the shared experience and exchange among biker friends remains a crucial element that binds the community together. The biker service in Radebeul was a great way to re-strengthen the connection between faith, community and passion for motorcycles.

Overall, it shows that the motorcyclist service is not just an event, but a living sign of solidarity and faith in Saxony's everyday motorcycle culture. “There’s something going on” – and that’s not just the sound of the engines, but also the message of life that continues to resonate in the hearts of the participants.
