Carousel rocks the 33rd Wine Street Festival in Weinböhla!

Weinböhla, the idyllic community in Saxony, will be transformed from September 5th to 7th, 2025 into the setting for the 33rd Wine Street Festival, which has a very special anniversary to celebrate this year. In addition to the annual tradition, the community's 675th anniversary is also on the program. An impressive event to be discovered!

The popular GDR cult band Karussell will rock the main stage on Friday evening at 7:50 p.m. Over the years, the band has established itself as the musical successor to the legendary Renft combo and will perform the hit “Either or” as well as many of their other songs during their performance. Frontman Joe Raschke, the son of the band's founder, leads the band onto the stage with sparkling enthusiasm. This promises to be a highlight of the winter street festival, which lasts until Sunday and will captivate visitors.

The festival in detail

And that's not all: the winery street festival has developed from humble beginnings with just seven wine stalls and a small range of food to a colorful spectacle with around 28 wineries and 125 stalls. Organizer Andreas Weidmann, who founded the festival, looks back proudly on the development, which began with an idea during a meeting with a winemaker friend.

The number of visitors is enormous: the high flow of visitors means that the community's parking lots, streets and meadows are almost full. Young and old come together for this spectacle. While many young guests between the ages of 14 and 20 enjoy mixed drinks at the stands, the stage is mainly populated by older visitors aged 50 and over who listen to the sounds of the band and reminisce.

Admission to the festival is free, which will certainly appeal to many, and the event is further honored by the presence of the mayor and the former wine princess Janine Merkel. Music, wine and conviviality come together here to create a special experience that marks the start of the wine festival season in Elbland.
