Magical sounds: Trio Blond inspires thousands in Chemnitz!

On June 14, 2025, the Chemnitz Theaterplatz was transformed into a pulsating center of music and culture when the crossover concert by Trio Blonde and the Robert Schumann Philharmonic attracted thousands of listeners. The singer Nina Kummer spoke of a “magical moment” that captivated the audience and brought the colorful sounds of the new album “I only dream of love” to life.

The event was part of the KOSMOS Festival, which took place as part of the Chemnitz 2023 Capital of Culture program. Visitors from near and far flocked to the square to enjoy hits like “Girl Boss”, “Geile Bitch” and “so hot”. The places were quickly filled, more than 4,000 tickets were fully booked within two hours, while many listeners also gathered outside the cordoned off area.

A feast for the senses

The Robert Schumann Philharmonic, one of Germany's most traditional orchestras, founded in 1833, struggled to keep up with the energetic trio, but encountered acoustic problems. The Philharmonic has made a respectable name for itself in the past with important guest conductors such as Richard Strauss and Arnold Schönberg. This combination of new sounds and classical music ensured the highest musical standards and made the audience cheer.

Particularly surprising was the appearance of rapper Nura, who performed her song “Tell me is that fair,” as well as the performance of Power Plush. Kraftklub also didn't miss the opportunity to enrich the evening with their new hit “Schief in meine Chor”. The entire festival is designed as a democracy festival and, in addition to concerts, also offers workshops, sporting activities and discussion groups.

Culture and community

The festival center around the castle pond not only hosts musical performances, but also slackline activities, which provide a lot of excitement with over 1.1 kilometers of slacklines. During the festival, numerous streets in Chemnitz will be closed, which is why the city administration recommends using public transport to avoid traffic disruptions.

The KOSMOS Festival, which goes back to the #wirsindmehr concert in 2018, is also attracting tens of thousands of visitors this year to experience an unforgettable time. If you don't want to miss this concentrated load of culture and community, you still have plenty of opportunities to attend the free events. There are also upcoming concerts MDR music summer, which promise exciting musical insights.

The concert presented here once again exceeds all expectations and is impressive proof of how the combination of new and classic sounds can make a city shake. Chemnitz thus impressively shows that culture and community can flourish even in times of challenges.
