Increasing return numbers: Saxony pushes more foreigners!
In the second quarter of 2025, Saxony experienced a remarkable development when leaving foreigners who are subject to departure. The Dresdner Nachrichten report that a total of 247 people were deported during this period. Of this, 210 returns were carried out by the State Directorate of Saxony (LDS), which is responsible for rejected asylum seekers.
A look at the main destinations of the returns shows that Georgia, Tunisia, Turkey, Morocco and Croatia were the most common goals. Particularly striking: there were 73 criminals among those withdrawal. In addition, 37 returns were carried out by lower immigration authorities, i.e. by counties and independent cities. Poland, the Czech Republic, Georgia, Portugal and Romania were in focus.
voluntary departure on the advance
The picture becomes even more positive when it comes to the voluntary departure. A total of 477 people decided to return, be it through government funding or self -financed return trips. Turkish citizens were particularly popular here, followed by Venezuelans, Georgians, Syrians and Russians.
compared to the second quarter of 2024, there is a clear increase in the deportations, which increased by 38 people. At the same time, the voluntary trips also increased - there were 189 returnees more than in the previous year in the same period. In the first six months of 2025, a total of 506 foreign foreigners were deported, while 920 people volunteered.
look into the future
The numbers of the returns are published quarterly after the 15th of the following month, which means that the authorities always have current data available. The State Government of Saxony with these measures focuses on increased rights to asylum and immigration law. The focus is on both an effective return and better support for volunteers.
We can be excited to see which developments will bring in autumn 2025 and whether the tendency continues to go to more voluntary return trips. It remains to be seen how the state government will react to the increasing figures and which measures are planned in the future.
