In a festive atmosphere, the jurors André Bernatzky, Sebastian Weidelt and Nico Heise selected the best stollen, including classic raisin, poppy seed and almond stollen. Particularly noteworthy were the innovative variants such as cranberry, spelled and whiskey stollen, as well as a new vegan selection.
But it's not just traditional flavors that please the palate - the demand for chocolate raisin stollen is also increasing. Despite the sharp rise in cocoa prices, customers are willing to dig a little deeper into their pockets for quality. Given an announced surcharge of around one euro per kilogram compared to the previous year, stollen prices will probably rise. Evaluation criteria such as appearance, stability, smell and taste ensured that 90 of the Stollen were rewarded with the highest grade of “very good”, while only two were rated as “good” and one Stollen was not rated. In addition, some companies received gold medals for at least three consistently excellent ratings.
