Döbeln celebrates: Oldest mailbox company opens modern factory!

In Döbeln everything revolves around the oldest mailbox company in Germany: Max Knobloch Nachf. GmbH. The important move to Burgstrasse took place in the spring, where the new, modern production facility found a new home in the former Autoliv factory. This step is celebrated by the company as one of the greatest milestones in the company's more than 150-year history. There will now be an “open day” on September 27, 2023, which will offer anyone interested the opportunity to explore the new premises. Sächsische reports that a colorful program will be offered from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Over 180 employees now work in the new location, which was equipped with the latest machine and system technology through an investment of around 16 million euros. This includes digital laser cutting for sheet metal processing and a state-of-the-art painting system. The social rooms, offices and logistics areas have also undergone a comprehensive renovation. These innovations allow the company to make its production more efficient and environmentally conscious, which is in line with the company's long-standing goals. [The Press Journal informs that the construction project was partially supported by tax revenue and funding from the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection.

Insights and fun at the open day

On September 26th, managing director Thomas Kolbe will give invited guests a tour of the company. A small company museum offers insights into the company's history, which, in addition to a tour of the modern production facilities, provides an exciting setting for visitors. The special thing about the program on the open day are the many attractions. From competitions to a wheel of fortune and football darts to children's forklift rides and face painting - there is something for everyone. Physical well-being is also taken care of, and a factory outlet offers special offers for visitors. As can be read on Max Knobloch's website, the company has always asserted itself and developed further through challenges such as wars and economic crises.

Max Knobloch Nachf. GmbH looks back on an eventful history. Originally founded in 1869, the company experienced ups and downs, including nationalization in the 1970s. The reprivatization in the 90s was a crucial turning point that enabled the Kolbe family to realign the company. Today Max Knobloch is not only the oldest, but also the only full-range mailbox supplier in Germany. The company headquarters in the new factory offers optimal conditions to meet growing market requirements and offer innovative solutions.

The upcoming event will undoubtedly be significant not only for employees, but also for the entire region. Max Knobloch Nachf. GmbH shows how tradition and innovation can go hand in hand. If you're curious, put September 27th in your calendar and don't miss the open day!
