The last weekend in June marks the tenth year of the village festival in Erlau! From June 27th to 29th, the square next to the fire station will be transformed into a lively festival area again. The Initiative für Erlau e.V. has worked with a lot of passion on the organization since 2009 and invites all generations to take part in the celebrations. Blick reports from a promising program that has something to offer for everyone.

On Friday, the village festival will be officially opened with the traditional beer tapping by Mayor Peter Ahnert. This evening is rounded off by the performance of the Milkau shawms, who will delight the guests with their sounds. It promises to be a good start to a varied weekend.

A program for young and old

Saturday is all about children. Organized by after-school teacher Jessica Adam, the little ones can look forward to a great children's party. But it's not just the youngest who get their money's worth. For the adults, there's plenty of excitement in bird shooting, and stein-lifting is sure to get a lot of laughs. The evening will then be dedicated to dancing with a fire show at 11 p.m., which will immerse the festival grounds in a magical atmosphere.

Sunday begins with a festive tent service, followed by a hearty lunch prepared by the volunteer fire department with a delicious goulash cannon. A highlight that many visitors are already looking forward to is the catering from the party service Pählke from Tanneberg on the first two days of the festival, which knows how to spice up the culinary offerings.

Village life and community

The commitment in the village is not only noticeable at the village festival, but is also supported by TSV Erlau. Annual events such as the upcoming inauguration of the new children's playground strengthen community cohesion. The TSV website reports on numerous activities that bring the community together.
