A breath of fresh air for agriculture: 21 new technicians get started!

On Friday the time had finally come: 21 agricultural graduates were able to receive their diplomas at the Freiberg-Zug Vocational School Center. The young agricultural technicians can look back on three years of intensive training. In addition to theoretical parts, international internships and practical experiences in Nossen were important stops on her journey through agriculture. An exciting entry into a promising field, as blick.de reports.

Director Gerd Alscher took the opportunity to address the generational change in agriculture in his speech. He emphasized how crucial the knowledge and drive of graduates are in overcoming the challenges of the industry. A clear message that should motivate the graduates: “We have your back!”

A successful career

In total, 1,996 young people have successfully completed their training since the school was founded in 1877 - including 885 technicians. This impressively shows how firmly anchored the vocational school center is in the region. It is particularly pleasing that students from Freiberg-Zug recently took second place at the 7th Europea-AgroChallenge in Estonia and thus defended last year's success as European champions.

The commitment of the association “EUROPEA Deutschland e.V.”, which was founded by director Alscher, also promotes the networking of schools in Europe. District Administrator Sven Krüger and Jörg Höllmüller, as well as Werner Bergelt from the regional farmers' association, did not miss the opportunity to congratulate the new agricultural technicians.

The best graduates

Special achievements were also recognized during the celebration. Nico Heine, Wolfgang Rede and Hannes Höhne were the best graduates and boasted average grades of 1.21, 1.39 and 1.82 respectively. Tobias Schenk received an award for his technical commitment, which underlines his commitment and willingness to perform.

“We are proud of our students,” said class teachers Johann Haupt and Falk Panza, delighted with their protégés’ successes. As a thank you for the support, the graduates presented a large poinsettia to the school.

Vocational training in the agricultural sector

The graduates have not only taken an important step in their careers, but are also ideally prepared for leadership and management tasks in agriculture. According to the [Dqr.de](https://www.dqr.de/dqr/shareddocs/qualigungen-neu/de/Techniker-Staatlich-gepruefter-Fach Direction-Landwirtschaft-Technikerin-Staatlich-gepruefte-Fachdirectional-Landwirtschaft-Bachelor-Professional-in-Technik.html), the agricultural technician represents a state-regulated vocational training course that provides a comprehensive qualification and the basis for independent process control in agricultural businesses.

A further look at further education and training reveals exciting possibilities. For example, graduates can attend advanced training at a technical school or gain further qualifications in specific areas such as hoof care or renewable energies. The Lower Saxony Chamber of Agriculture also offers a comprehensive range of educational opportunities that serve not only to maintain but also to expand professional skills, where a wide range of events for personal and entrepreneurial development are offered.

With their newly acquired qualifications, the graduates are now ready to bring a breath of fresh air into agriculture. So we can't wait to see what impulses these young technicians will bring to the industry!
