Career opportunities for young people: Come on tour in Döbeln starts!

In Döbeln it's all about talent and perspectives! The event “Come on tour – my strengths, my future” will take place there for the tenth time from October 23rd to 29th, 2025. This adventure course has become an integral part of schools in the Central Saxony district and this year attracts almost 800 students who go on a journey of discovery to discover their own strengths and talents.

Under the patronage of District Administrator Sven Krüger, Pia Weißenberg, the division manager for construction, transport and environment, ceremoniously opened this important event. The first stop is the Zwilling Scholl High School in Roßwein, where the young participants can explore their skills in various activities on a 500 square meter course. The aim is not only to promote self-knowledge, but also to provide insights into the professional world and to support students in their career orientation.

Insight into the future

In the so-called “time tunnel”, participants can take a look at possible future paths while reflecting on important aspects of life such as family, career and leisure time. For example, young Mia from the Roßwein special school dreams of working in nursing and is already planning an internship in the hospital. This is also where the travel companions come into play, local companies and institutions who give the students honest feedback and make their strengths visible. Melanie Möbius says: “The travel companions are the heart of the project,” while Dagmar Häfele adds that the trainees are enthusiastic about it.

The “Come on Tour” project is aimed at young people from the 7th or 8th grade as well as their legal guardians and teachers. It offers a great platform for strength discovery, career orientation and life planning. According to komm-auf-tour.de, interested parties can find information about the various project strands, offers and dates online. There is also the possibility of bringing the project to your own regions or federal states, which gives local schools the chance to start similar initiatives.

The future in sight

The next major measure as part of this project has also already been decided: The “Open Companies Week” will take place from March 9th to 14th, 2026 and offers young people another opportunity to get a taste of various careers directly on site. Thanks to generous funding from the Saxon State Ministry of Culture, the Federal Employment Agency and the Central Saxony district, access to these valuable experiences continues to be made easier.

In summary, it shows that “Come on Tour” is not just an event, but a real opportunity to set important course for the future and discover talent. A valuable step for all students in Central Saxony!
