An apartment fire in Freiberg's old town caused a stir on Saturday evening, October 26, 2025. The fire department was alerted around 7:15 p.m. after a kitchen fire broke out on the second floor of an apartment building. Thanks to the quick reaction of the residents, everyone was able to leave the fire apartment in time before the fire department arrived. The fire itself was quickly brought under control and extinguished by the emergency services, reports View.
However, a little girl who was treated in an ambulance as a precautionary measure for suspected smoke inhalation was quickly given the all-clear as she was discharged healthy again. A total of 25 firefighters were on duty with 6 vehicles, supported by police and emergency services.
