Attention model railway lovers: Big market and exhibition in Freiberg!
On November 2nd the time has finally come: an exciting model railway fair will take place in the Brauhof restaurant in Freiberg, Körnerstraße 2. Around ten providers from Central Germany will present everything to do with the fascinating world of model railways. There's something for everyone - from locomotives to wagons to tracks and electronics, and even accessories like trees, figures and cars. Whether young or old, every model railway fan will get their money's worth here. A test track is available for the curious among visitors, where they can try out the locomotives directly on site. This event is part of a series of events that make the hearts of model railway enthusiasts beat faster.
If that's not enough, you can look forward to the 40th model railway exhibition, which will take place from November 15th to 23rd in the RIU senior residence at Merbachstrasse 2-4. The exhibition is open daily from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., except Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, when the gates open from 10 a.m. Here visitors can expect a diverse presentation of detailed systems as well as a H0 community system with the theme “branch line”. There is also a craft table with prepared kits for little model builders. A real highlight that combines fun and creativity!
An anniversary with tradition
Special recognition goes to the Freiberger Modelleisenbahnclub 1965 e.V., which is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year. Over the years, the club has been committed to maintaining and preserving the historic railway line between Klingenberg-Colmnitz and Oberdittmannsdorf. At the Falkenberg stop there is an inviting bench with a nostalgic railway flair, which offers a well-deserved rest not only for cyclists and hikers. The club also receives support from the municipality of Halsbrücke, which takes care of the maintenance of green waste, display boards and storm drains. Anyone interested is warmly invited to take part and live out their passion for model building and the natural care of the facility.
