New rescue station opened in Frankenberg: emergency care strengthened!

In Frankenberg, the official inauguration of the new rescue station on Monday set an important milestone in emergency care in the region. The new station is located on the corner of Meltzerstrasse and Max-Kästner-Strasse and represents a significant improvement with an investment volume of around 2.5 million euros, which was fully financed by the Mittelsachsen district. The construction, which spanned a planning phase of 10 months and a construction period of 15 months, brought together a total of 21 trades.

The old rescue station at the former hospital had no longer served its purpose. Technically and spatially it was no longer up to date, which is why the new building on a plot of over 1,900 square meters now brings a breath of fresh air to emergency care. The new premises offer a modern ambience that optimally supports the emergency services in their important work.

Modern equipment for optimal operations

What awaits the rescue workers in the new station? The vehicle hall is equipped with parking spaces for three emergency vehicles and has an integrated wash bay. There are also functional, social and administrative areas here that make everyday work much easier. Material and logistics rooms, an oxygen storage, building technology, as well as disinfection and relaxation rooms contribute to the high functionality of the facility.

Particularly noteworthy is the consideration of the working conditions for employees. With modern changing rooms and sanitary areas, separate relaxation rooms and two office areas, the rescue station is not only a functional but also a pleasant working environment. An additional plus: a photovoltaic system on the roof of the new building ensures an environmentally friendly energy supply, supported by an air heat pump.

An important part of healthcare

A total of around 32 employees will work in shifts at the new station, with around eight emergency services available per shift. The new rescue station is not only an architectural highlight, but also a valuable component for emergency care for the population in Frankenberg.

Those responsible have great expectations of the new facility and are convinced that it will make a positive contribution to the safety of the population. A good hand in planning and execution was crucial in adapting the rescue station to today's requirements.

The inauguration also marks the beginning of a new era of emergency medical care. Well planned and professionally implemented, the emergency services can now carry out their important work under the best conditions.
