However, Taube also sees opportunities in the current situation and is planning a reorientation, which particularly includes the production of vehicles for authorities and organizations (BOS vehicles). “We don’t manufacture fire engines, but rather specialized equipment trucks for logistics,” says Taube.

Creative ways to secure orders

In the last six years, RKB has built around 2,000 special vehicles, which corresponds to an average of 340 units per year. However, the depth of production has decreased because much of the work is outsourced to regional companies. Nevertheless, the design work for the special vehicles will continue to be carried out in Döbeln, which is positive for the regional economy.

Expansion of the product portfolio

The RKB also plans to expand its product range in the area of ​​sanitary trailers. Mobile toilet vehicles are to be manufactured here in collaboration with another factory. This represents an exciting step into a new market niche that is particularly popular these days.

At the meeting, the former employees were surprised by the developments in the plant. The diversity of professions and opportunities is retained, which strengthens the company's identity and at the same time opens up new perspectives.
