Vote and win: This is how you support North Saxony's clubs!

Something is happening again in Northern Saxony! Under the motto “We’ll get it done!” started an exciting campaign by Sparkasse Leipzig, LVZ, TZ and OAZ, which puts the spotlight on non-profit projects from the region. Until October 13th, 3 p.m., interested parties can vote online as to which of the six association projects presented should receive support of a total of 16,500 euros from PS lottery savings from Sparkasse Leipzig. Particularly attractive: The first place winner can look forward to 5,000 euros. The campaign impressively shows how important voluntary work is in the region and how it can strengthen communities.

The projects presented are diverse and address different target groups. Each club has its own mission, ranging from supporting youth to supporting grief work. In this way, social cohesion is promoted, which is also the goal of the Voluntary Agency Saxony, which has been actively working since its founding in March 2021 to network volunteers and institutions and support them in their projects.

The projects in detail

• Leichtathletik Club Taucha: Mit dem Projekt „Leichtathletik für alle – Dein erster Sprint ins Vereinsleben“ wird ein niedrigschwelliges Angebot für Kinder und Familien geschaffen. Geplant sind Schnupperwochen und Kurse, um auch die Jüngsten für den Sport zu begeistern.
• Kleingartenverein Oschatz-Süd „Erich Billert“: Hier steht die Restaurierung einer historischen Gartenlaube im Fokus, die als Ausstellungsraum für Naturthemen genutzt werden soll.
• Bürgerverein Hohenossig: Eine Fahrrad-Servicestation entlang des Radwegs zwischen Hohenossig und Zschölkau soll Radfahrern eine Möglichkeit für kleinere Reparaturen bieten.
• TV Blau-Gelb 90 Bad Düben: Der Ausbau der Kinderbewegungswelt „Purzelbaum“ zielt darauf ab, jungen Menschen auch mit Beeinträchtigungen Bewegungsmöglichkeiten zu bieten.
• Ambulante Hospizdienst St. Josef in Torgau: Ein Projekt zur Trauerbegleitung von Kindern, bei dem kreative Methoden wie Malen und Basteln zum Einsatz kommen, um den Kleinen in schwierigen Zeiten zu helfen.
• Evangelische Oberschule Belgern-Schildau: „Klassenzimmer im Grünen“ soll einen Freiluft-Lernort schaffen, der die Natur in die Bildung integriert.

This initiative is not only a sign of support for the club's work, but also highlights the importance of volunteering in our society. According to Statista, around 16.9 million people in Germany do voluntary work, which underlines the high relevance of such campaigns. Voluntary engagement is a pillar of active social life and is primarily expressed in clubs, sports communities or through voluntary services.
