Starting shot for B169: Large construction projects between Salbitz and Riesa!

In the coming years, the new B169 between Salbitz and the B6 will be the topic in the Saxony region. Preparations for this extensive construction project are already in full swing this year. Markus Heier, head of the Leipzig branch of the State Office for Road Construction and Transport (LasUV), refers to the complex challenges that must be overcome before the actual start of construction. A precise year for the start of traffic on the new route remains uncertain for the time being, but the first steps have already been initiated, such as lvz.de reported.

Currently, the construction preparing measures are currently underway. These include the challenge of overcoming a 300,000-volt current route. In order to ensure the necessary distance between the power lines and the road, the operator 50Hertz Transmission GmbH will install new, higher masts. This work is expected to begin at the end of July after the previous archaeological examination of the site has been completed.

The technical and environmental requirements

Another point on the agenda is the laying of a gas high pressure line. The B169 is run in an incision, which requires that the gas line must be laid up to ten meters deep. It is interesting here that the laying is partly in open procedures and partly in the drilling rinsing process. Due to the loamy building, there is a risk of settlements, which is why it has to be solidified. A "technological break" will be necessary to wait for the settings before the actual road construction begins.

The main construction work is scheduled for 2027 with a total budget of impressive 60 million euros. The question of the construction period arises all the more, which, however, cannot be specified before the first order is awarded. The entire project comprises a total of five sub -projects and measures a length of 34.2 kilometers. The expansion of the B169 is not only important for regional traffic, but also for national connections to motorways A 13 and A 14. In terms of 2030, the future medium traffic load is estimated to be around 300 vehicles per day, while in the event of 600 vehicles it is even assumed. This shows how important it is to adapt the existing infrastructure to the increasing requirements, as well as the Federal Land-sachsen.de.

The urgency of the project is clear: The current state of the B169 is not sufficient for the requirements for a national connection function. A rapid implementation will not only improve the traffic situation in the region, but will also facilitate national exchange. Therefore, it remains to be seen how the coming months will develop and when the actual construction can begin. However, one thing is certain: the new B169 will play a major role in the Saxony state transport plan in 2025.
