Saxony's Free State is investing 1.4 million in the Day of the Saxons!

The anticipation for the “Day of the Saxons” is growing! The Free State of Saxony has supported the city of Sebnitz with a generous allocation of up to 1.4 million euros to realize this large festival for clubs and associations. The decision was ceremoniously handed over to Mayor Ronald Kretzschmar by Béla Bélafi, President of the Saxony State Directorate. It is the second time that Sebnitz has had the honor of hosting this important event and everyone involved is excited about the celebrations.

The “Day of the Saxons” will take place from September 5th to 7th, 2025 under the motto “To blooming experiences!” in Sebnitz. This event not only promises a festive atmosphere, but also a diverse program that focuses on culture, music, art, education, crafts and social cohesion. The city of Sebnitz will contribute 20 percent of the total costs itself, which makes things even more exciting because it shows the great commitment of the city and the citizens.

The event not only attracts locals, but also numerous visitors from other regions who can look forward to the numerous offers. The organizers have come up with a lot of ideas to create an unforgettable experience for everyone involved. From music and art events to various stands and topics related to education and business, there is something for everyone. For example, there is the summer family fun event in Oskarshausen as well as the 26th Leipzig Beer Exchange, which promises a real feast for the senses at the same time as Saxon Day. The EuroBean Chocolate Festival in Chemnitz in August and other local festivals could also arouse visitors' curiosity.

It is not the first time that Sebnitz has organized such a mammoth event. The “Day of the Saxons” has become an integral part of the Saxon event calendar over the years, and the anticipation increases from year to year.
