Construction site hinders Struppen baker: That's why the Bohse bakery is fighting!

The Bohse bakery in Struppen is going through a challenging time. The traditional bakery, which has had roots in the community since 1991, had to close its doors for several years due to the long-planned road construction on State Road 168. This measure has been discussed for years, but it was not until March 3, 2023 - an unfortunate time because it was Shrove Monday - that the construction site was started. The major traffic disruptions have had a major impact on customer frequency, especially at the worst possible time: carnival season.

Maria Schmid, partner of baker Simon Bohse and junior manager of the company, said that the decline in customers was noticeable. In particular, the freshly baked pancakes, which are particularly in demand these days, remained largely unsold. In order to save the situation, the bakery considered moving to the nearby Mittelgasthof, which had been vacant for years. But there were great concerns: the move would have involved immense effort and possibly parking problems.

A look into the future

During the construction work, which is scheduled to take two years, the Bohse Bakery will continue to try to reach its customers. The hope is that the good cooperation with the agricultural production in the village, which runs a country butcher shop and a farmhouse, will benefit the bakery. The locals should be reminded of the bakery's tradition and still support the Matzekipper.

So it remains to be seen how the situation will develop during the construction period and whether the people of Struppen will be able to keep their bakery as an integral part of village life. Road construction may be a challenge, but the bakery family always had a knack for finding creative solutions in difficult times.

Nowadays, many people are still interested in a variety of options, be it a taste for fresh baked goods or streaming films and series. While many people rely on free streaming sites in the entertainment sector, there are also risks such as malware or copyright infringement that should be taken into account. PrivacySavvy recommends always paying attention to the legality of the content and, if necessary, using a VPN to protect privacy. Paid streaming services are often more expensive, but they usually offer a better user experience and security.
