An incident on the A17 near Bannewitz caused a stir. On Wednesday, October 29, 2025, there was a collision between a VW Caddy and a Ford Transit. The 41-year-old driver of the VW Caddy was apparently unable to brake in time when the Ford driver had to stop due to a traffic jam. Fortunately, there were no injuries in this accident, but the material damage amounts to around 3,500 euros Saxon reported.
Police also conducted a drug test on the VW Caddy driver, which came back positive for amphetamines. For this reason, an investigation is now underway for endangering road traffic.
