New paint for Pirna-Copitz: WGP invests 330,000 euros!

Pirna-Copitz is currently investing heavily in the future! The Städtische Wohnungsgesellschaft Pirna (WGP) has undertaken a comprehensive redesign of the facades of several apartment blocks on Robert-Klett-Ring and is not only attaching importance to visual enhancement, but also to the long-term weather protection of the buildings. House entrances one to nine are to be extensively renovated with a total volume of 330,000 euros, reports Sächsische.de.

Sören Sander from WGP explains that the new, modern color schemes not only enhance the appearance of the residential complexes, but also contribute to the sustainable preservation of the building fabric. Such measures are important in order to offer residents an attractive living environment. And that's not all: next year it will be the turn of other buildings in the district that also need a breath of fresh air in their facade.

Expanded construction work in the area

But the facade painting is only part of larger renovation and modernization measures that have been underway in the region for some time. In the last few months, for example, there has been a lot of work on Remscheider Straße 22 to 27: replacing windows, installing new heating systems and laying new underground pipes are on the agenda, as the WGP construction diary shows wg-pirna.de.

Another item on the list of construction work is the completion of the fire department access behind Schillerstrasse 56 to 60, which was completed on June 23, 2025. The newly designed playground between Juri-Gagarin-Strasse and Albert-Wetzig-Strasse also brings a breath of fresh air to the neighborhood, as new climbing equipment and seating options have been installed here.

An eye on the future

The large number of ongoing and planned projects shows that the WGP has a good knack for fundamental renovations and modernizations. The social housing offerings and infrastructural developments are constantly being improved, which not only makes everyday life easier for citizens, but also makes the living environment more attractive in the long term.

With the upcoming further investments, the WGP will continue to work in the future to make the city of Pirna an even more livable place. Changes that bring back a bit of quality of life and inconspicuously but effectively shape the cityscape.
