The material damage from the accident is estimated at around 7,000 euros and the motorcycle had to be towed away. But it wasn't just in Pöhl that traffic caused a stir today: another serious accident occurred the evening before in Markneukirchen, where a 19-year-old motorcyclist was seriously injured in a solo accident. The young man was traveling on the B 283 and lost control of his vehicle in a right-hand bend, slipped into a protective barrier and had to be flown to the hospital by rescue helicopter. The property damage amounted to around 5,000 euros.

Serious accidents in the region

Also on Wednesday afternoon there was a serious accident on the S297 in Neudörfel near Plauen, where a 26-year-old motorcyclist who was driving from Plauen towards Neudörfel collided with a Kia. The 93-year-old driver wanted to turn left at the junction with the S297. Although the driver was uninjured, his 79-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries. The accident damage is estimated at around 11,000 euros, as Blick reports.

The police have not yet provided any final information about the exact course of this accident. The accident site was also completely closed and road users who know the area are asked to avoid the region as far as possible.
