Disturbing incidents and investigations
Despite the event being largely trouble-free overall, there were a few serious incidents late on Saturday evening. An investigation into grievous bodily harm was launched after a 17-year-old was seriously injured in an argument. A 16-year-old is suspected of being involved in this incident. There were also indications of possible incitement and the use of unconstitutional symbols. In this context, the police discovered three thefts and ten reports of the use of unconstitutional symbols, which led to the event organizer banning the affected people from the premises.
Security and hindsight
The police department under Andreas Müller praised the cooperation with the city and the organizers, despite the increased number of emergency services compared to the previous year. A 19-year-old who caused a stir with a toy gun was immediately expelled from the premises, showing that the security situation was being taken seriously. Overall, however, the atmosphere during the Simson meeting was positive and festive for the majority of visitors.
