An exciting weekend full of nostalgia and motorsport is coming up! On July 19th and 20th, 2025, the August Horch Museum in Zwickau invites you to the summer festival under the motto “Summer, Sun, OldtiMEER”. There is a colorful program for young and old that will delight museum visitors and classic car fans alike. zwickau.de reports that the event ranges from public tours of the museum to children's entertainment to Trabant tours. A classic car meeting and a fire brigade classic car exhibition are also a must.

The stage program promises entertainment and a good atmosphere on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission prices are kept fair at 10 euros for adults, while children up to 16 years of age have free entry. Particularly noteworthy is the August 13th Horch Klassik on Sunday, which starts at 9 a.m., with an impressive route from Zwickau via Reinsdorf and Stollberg/Erzgebirge to Lichtenwalde. The return journey takes you via the former Wandererwerke in Chemnitz and the coal world in Oelsnitz back to Zwickau, where the classic cars arrive around 3 p.m.

A look at the special exhibition “Audi in Le Mans”

A special highlight during the summer festival is the special exhibition “Audi in Le Mans – 24 hours at the limit”. According to [blick.de](https://www.blick.de/zwickau/sonder exhibition-zu-audi-in-le-mans-im-horch-museum-zwickau-artikel13614708), the exhibition will open its doors on November 29, 2025 and celebrate the 25th anniversary of Audi's first participation in the legendary 24-hour race. From 1999 to 2018, Audi won a whopping 13 of 18 participations in the race, with the R8R taking podium places on its debut in 1999. Audi achieved its first overall victory lap in 2000 with a triple podium, which at the time had legendary drivers like Tom Kristensen in its ranks.

The exhibition will feature nine impressive vehicles, including the Audi R8 TFSI, R10 TDI and R18 e-tron quattro, as well as two 1:1 cutaway models. But that's not all: In addition to the cars, visitors can also expect racing engines, technology exhibits and even winner's trophies. A real eye-catcher is the winner's trophy, which is over 1.30 meters high and weighs 50 kg, for the three consecutive victories from 2006 to 2008.

Entry and information

The exhibition will be on view until the beginning of November 2025 and offers the opportunity to look behind the scenes of one of the most demanding motorsport events from Tuesday to Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The museum is closed on Mondays, unless it is a public holiday. Admission prices are also affordable at 13 euros for adults and 11 euros for those entitled to discounts. Children under 6 years of age can try out free of charge.
