Last Saturday evening, the Salza Hall in Bad Langensalza, Thuringia, was a venue full of enthusiasm. In front of 1,217 spectators, the Thuringian HC achieved a convincing 34:22 victory over VfL Oldenburg in the women's handball Bundesliga. This game was the 6th matchday and was very promising for coach Herbert Müller's team.
Already in the first minutes of the game, both teams showed intensive defensive work, and the game was in the balance with 5:4 for Thüringer HC by the 10th minute. But from the first time the THC took the lead through Nathalie Hendrikse, the Thuringians made an impressive run. Within ten minutes they increased the lead to 12:8 and went into the half-time break with a clear 19:11. In this phase, not only the defense was convincing, but also the goalkeeper Laura Kuske, who caused a stir with several saves. Johanna Reichert, the game's best thrower, shone with twelve goals and contributed significantly to her team's success.

After halftime, the Oldenburg women showed a brief upswing and scored two quick goals. But the Thuringians remained focused. Johanna Reichert quickly restored the usual distance and the team further extended their lead. In the 48th minute, the women of Thüringer HC celebrated their first ten-goal lead with 28:18. The team kept the pace high until the final whistle and left no further doubt about their victory.
