On September 13, 2025, the motto in Zwickau will be “Ready, Set, Go!” at the now 12th Zwickau Triathlon, which will take place on Sunday, September 14th. Almost 600 participants from different age groups are expected, including both ambitious endurance specialists and sports-loving youth. The event is organized by those responsible for the SV Zwickau 04 organized, who are in the final preparations and can look forward to another almost fully booked event.
The competition around the well-known Glück Auf swimming pool promises exciting competitions in various disciplines. The starting signal is fired at 9 a.m. and there are restrictions in the area of the competition course for bystanders, as the safety of the participants has the highest priority. Participants can look forward to various formats, including both relay and individual competitions.

The Zwickau Triathlon is a real highlight in the event calendar and shows how quickly this sport has gained popularity. Since triathlon was introduced in Germany in the 1980s, the number of competitions has increased rapidly. There are now around 600 triathlon events per year in Germany, so both the professional and amateur worlds get their money's worth.
What is triathlon?
Originally founded in San Diego in 1974, triathlon has developed into an Olympic discipline that has been competed worldwide since 2000.
