In the final against the USA, the boys had to admit defeat with 76:109, but were able to achieve their best result in this age group with the silver medal. After an exciting first half score of 47:56, Germany could not prevent the USA from extending the lead to up to 30 points in the third quarter. DBB President Ingo Weiss praised the team for their outstanding achievements and described the success as “historic”. Vice President Armin Andres also spoke positively about the future of German men's basketball. “We saw that the potential was there and the foundations for a successful future had been laid,” he said.
