Großstöbnitz: B7 completely closed until the end of August due to construction work!
Road users beware! From July 7, 2025 until probably the end of August 2025, federal highway 7 will be completely closed in the Großstöbnitz town thoroughfare. The reason for these massive restrictions are extensive construction measures that are being carried out on behalf of the Thuringian State Office for Building and Transport. The following work is to be carried out in two construction phases: the renewal of the drinking water pipe, the installation of new gas house connections and the renovation of the road surface. A diversion has already been signposted and road users are asked to drive this route with caution and consideration. Further information is available from the relevant authorities, it is reported abg-net.de.
But that's not the only construction site on the B7! The road will also be completely closed in the area of the Pleiße Bridge near Windischleuba between May 12, 2025 and probably October 10, 2025. The plan here is to build a replacement bridge, followed by necessary road construction work. A route was set for the diversion, which leads via the B180, Nobitz, the K310, the S51 to Eschefeld and back to the B7. Here too, the Free State of Thuringia asks all road users to understand and be considerate of the diversion route, as the condition of the existing bridge has deteriorated significantly in recent years. This measure is part of a comprehensive expansion and new construction project on the B7, as shown on Altenburgerland.de can be read.
Safe on the road despite construction sites
There are currently no types of danger or serious reports expected on the B7. Nevertheless, as is well known, construction sites are often the cause of chaos in traffic. The construction site areas are temporarily cordoned off, but obstacles on the roadway could always pose a potential hazard. Road users should also always pay attention to possible slipping hazards or possible visibility restrictions during construction work, such as verkehrslage.de listed. Whether a hindrance occurs due to weather conditions such as black ice or other road users - it is everyone's responsibility to behave accordingly.
The construction sites will certainly continue to dominate our streets until autumn. Until then, all we can do is be patient and follow the instructions of the traffic authorities. So, dear drivers, plan your routes wisely and reach your destination safely!
