East Thuringian bike ballers celebrate masterly successes before the summer break
The bike ball season 2024/2025 is coming to an end and the East Thuringian Radball stronghold, SV 1949 Langenleuba-Niederhain, can look back on an extremely successful year. The traditional bike ball weekend marked the end of the season and offered impressive insights into the committed offspring, which came up with numerous titles. Particularly noteworthy are the achievements in the age groups U11, U13 and U17, which were able to win the national championship title and the Thuringia trophies, such as Abg-net reported.
Another success was the performance of the U15 teams, two of which reached the quarter-finals for the German championship-although they failed at the move into the semi-finals. As part of these successes, the U17 team, consisting of Leonie Reinicke and Carl Mehnert, celebrated their fourth participation in a national championship. The two can also look back on a special victory in the U19 when they won the federal cup and won the first U19 European Championship title in Hungary
successes in the youth area
The committed coach Marcel Taube and Jan Mehnert as well as the support of the parents have made a significant contribution to these successes. On Saturday, numerous tournaments of the U15 and U19/Elite took place in Langenleuba, in which a total of 13 teams from eight clubs took part. Louis Börngen and Richard Wachler from SV 1949 Langenleuba-Niederhain I prevailed in the U15 competitions and won the title. The team of SV Blau-Gelb Ehrenberg took second place with Luca Rademann and Marc Kaulin.

The young young bike balls shines

Lena Schulz and Lena Meyer secured the victory in the girls' tournament, while Leon Hirsch and Christian Hartmann from SV won the U11 competition in 1949, followed by Zscherben. A special moment was the awarding of a historic flag band to Lars Brertitz from KSC Leipzig by the department head of SV 1949, Jan Mehnert.
Fortunately, there were also success with other associations in the region. Dominik Espen and Jonas Zetzsche from MTV 1876 Saalfeld are now allowed to play in the 2nd Bundesliga, and the team Lawos under the leadership of Nils Kebsch and Manuel Paschka shows impressive performances and strives to promotion to the first division. These successes in the regional sector not only raise the importance of bike ball in Thuringia, but also open up perspectives for the future of the sport in the region. With the numerous titles won and the strong performance last season, SV 1949 Langenleuba-Niederhain moved into a well-deserved summer break and looks at the upcoming challenges with confidence. The commitment that the young athletes and the entire community show is a strong signal for the future of bike ball in Germany. The anticipation for the next season is already noticeable!
