Senior citizens' fair in the Goldener Pflug: Enjoy life and get information!

The anticipation is growing: On September 3, 2025, an exciting and informative event awaits visitors to the seniors' fair in the Golden Plow in Altenburg. Under the motto “Enjoy life, take precautions, find support”, there will be numerous opportunities for people aged 60 and over to find out about a good life in old age from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event, which is supported by District Administrator Uwe Melzer and Mayor Andrè Neumann as patrons, offers a wealth of offers and activities.

The senior citizens' fair has set itself the goal of presenting important information and current offers to the district's older men and women. Companies, associations and institutions from the region are invited to present their services on topics such as assisted living, care, education and culture. The trade fair promises a colorful range of presentations that cover the daily needs of old age: from cosmetics and medical foot care to healthy nutrition, fashion and travel.

Diverse supporting program

Visitors can look forward to a varied supporting program. Young people are also invited to actively participate: during a skat session with Dieter Schwenke and students from the Altenburger Lerchenberggymnasium, cross-generational exchange is very important. There are also informative lectures on relevant topics. At 10:30 a.m., Detective Inspector Holger Werner will explain how seniors can protect themselves from fraud. Another highlight is the lecture by Ulf Schmalfuß at 12 p.m., who will give valuable tips on safety when using smartphones and tablets. At 1:30 p.m. the Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe e. V. offer a first aid course.

The performance by the “Pusteblume” daycare center from Altenburg will provide an additional cultural flair, while a fashionable highlight will be the fashion show by the Kress company. A sing-along program also invites those present to join in. Of course, food is provided: the rural women will be on hand with tasty food and drinks.

Contact and entry

Visitors can enjoy free entry, making the fair an ideal opportunity to meet friends, socialize or simply have a fun day. If you are interested in other events, you can find them on the website German Society for Advice for Seniors Numerous offers that provide information all year round on various topics such as retirement planning, security and healthy living.

The seniors' fair in the Goldener Pflug is not only a place to exchange information, but also offers the chance to get in touch with other seniors and spend time together.
