Thuringian athletes shine: Mick Naumann fetches Vizelandes championship title!

In the lively city of Arnstadt, the Thuringian state championships of athletes took place on June 14 and 15, 2025. In high summer temperatures, athletes from different age groups competed against each other. Among them were two promising talents from Altenburg, Mick Naumann (M13) and Aaron Fischer (MU20), who caused a sensation with their impressive performance. According to the reports from ABG-Net, both athletes showed what it means to start with passion and perseverance.

Mick Naumann competed in the 75-meter sprint and was able to qualify directly for the final run with a strong lead, where he finally took the 3rd place and was rewarded with a bronze medal. But that's not all: even in the shot put, Mick set up a personal best of 9.40 meters and landed in the 5th place. In the discus throw, he increased to a best width of 27.52 meters and thus won the 3rd place again. In the hammer throw, he rounded off his impressive weekend by exceeding the old record by almost two meters and winning the title of Vizelandesmeister in his age group with a width of 26.32 meters.

bad luck, but still medal for Aaron Fischer

Unfortunately, the competition was not exclusively with Mick. Aaron Fischer had bad luck at the long jump and had to stop his competition due to an injury after the first jump. Nevertheless, he was able to record a valid leap and secured the 3rd place, even if he came to the finish line with mixed feelings.

Participation in this extremely important competition was not only challenging for the athletes, but also for her trainer Sandra Kramer, who supported her despite her own birthday. This shows the team spirit and the community, which can often be found in sport. Their accompaniment was an important motivational factor for the young athletes who have strained enormously and are prepared for the next competitions.

The Thuringian state championships are not the only sporting events in the region, as can be experienced on the website of the Thuringian Athletics Association. In the next few weeks there will be a variety of competitions on the agenda. The sports festival for the “Minis” in Bad Köstritz will take place on June 14th, while the Masters and the age groups U14 to U20 will continue to fight for medals in Arnstadt. The competition remains exciting and it is worth keeping an eye on the next events. According to TLV-Sport, the youth training camp will also deliver pioneering knowledge in the coming time.
