Rot-Weiß Erfurt: Rebuilding with fresh talent and unfulfilled wishes!
On July 3, 2025, Rot-Weiß Erfurt started preparations for the new regional league season. On June 23rd, the team began intensive training under new assistant coach Nils Weiler. However, coach Fabian Gerber has already noticed that the squad is not yet optimally staffed and sees an urgent need for action, especially in the defensive area. We are looking for a left full-back and a central defender who can also play in defensive midfield. These positional reinforcements are necessary as several important players have left the club - including Robin Fabinski, who is moving to VFL Osnabrück, and Jeremiaha Maluze, who is moving to Eintracht Frankfurt's U21.
What remains of the departures? Some fresh talents are joining the team. The new additions include Boipelo Mashigo, Raphael Assibey-Mensah, Artur Golubytskyi and Sejdo Durakov. All three, with the exception of Assibey-Mensah, who is in rehab, have already taken part in the first training session. The main goal of the coaching crew is to quickly integrate the new players into the team in order to set up a powerful team right from the start.
A look at the squad
With an average age of 21.9 years, the Rot-Weiß Erfurt squad is quite young and dynamic. The total market value is around 850,000 euros; The club can shine in the forward position with a market value of 450,000 euros. However, there is an opportunity for some players to continue to be strengthened through the latest transfers.
| position | Average age | Market value | Average market value |
|---|---|---|---|
| goalkeeper | 19.5 years | €25,000 | €13,000 |
| Defence | 22.3 years | €325,000 | €54,000 |
| midfield | 21.0 years | €50,000 | €25,000 |
| Storm | 22.8 years | €450,000 | €113,000 |
Team cohesion and training camp
In order to further promote team spirit, the team is planning a training camp in Weißensee. A good knack for integrating the new arrivals is required because coach Gerber has clear visions: He wants to show attractive football and stand up to the stronger teams in the regional league. In a league characterized by strong competitors, team cohesion is more important than ever.
The coming weeks will show whether Rot-Weiß Erfurt can fix its problems in time to start the matches with fresh self-confidence. Stay tuned, because the Regionalliga promises exciting games, and the development of our club can become the most exciting chapter here.
