Nature Experience Day in Gotha: A celebration for the whole family!

Next week it will be that time again: The Nature experience day invites all nature enthusiasts to the Bretterbude e.V. premises in Gotha on Saturday, September 13th, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Under the motto “We bring nature into our city!” Participants can expect a colorful program that encourages families, both young and old, to get involved.

A highlight of the day will be the puppet show “The Little Snail Monika Little House and the Dung Beetle” by the renowned puppet theater TAB from Ilmenau Roda, which will take place at 10 a.m. In addition to this popular program item, there are numerous workshops and creative offerings that mainly revolve around the topics of sustainability, environmental awareness and healthy eating. All program items are free of charge, with the exception of the puppet show.

Diverse offers for young and old

The event offers a variety of activities: from a gardening workshop in which participants are asked to bring old berry collection baskets, fruit crates or small wooden drawers, to creative crafts with natural and recycled materials. If you feel like changing clothes, the clothes swap corner is the perfect place. A book exchange box is also provided to promote the joy of reading, and you may be able to find real treasures at a small flea market stall.

Thanks to the support of partners such as the Kreisjugendring and funding from the German Television Lottery and the Regional Foundation of the Kreissparkasse Gotha, the Nature Experience Day becomes a celebration of the community. Special surprises at the adventure stations, which can be discovered using a walking list, round off the offer.

The background and the great importance of the nature experience day

But what is behind such events? Loud Environment Minister Franz Untersteller The Nature Experience Day is a significant contribution to combating the “erosion of knowledge” in relation to nature. With over 260 events in Baden-Württemberg, it is clear how important it is to get people – especially children and families – excited about nature.

Another aspect that the Nature education What comes into play is early exposure to natural environments. This not only promotes environmental awareness, but also social skills and the development of conscience in children, starting from the age of 6. Children who are actively involved in nature develop a passion for conservation and learn to take individual responsibility in a global context.

However, a good knack for the right support is required so that nature education can be implemented effectively. Well-trained nature guides and regular training are crucial to ensuring that the quality of the offerings remains high and that environmental and nature conservation concerns are anchored in the future generation.

The Nature Experience Day in Gotha is not just an opportunity to have fun in nature. It also offers the opportunity to make children and adults alike aware of nature that is worth protecting and to awaken interest in environmental protection. Come by and be inspired!
