Gotha city administration supports the Helping Angels with 350 euros!
On July 23, 2025, the Gotha city administration organized a happy summer festival that was not only for entertainment, but also had a charitable purpose. Mayor Knut Kreuch and the chairwoman of the staff council, Beatrix Lang, presented a donation of 350 euros to the association as part of the celebrations Helping Angels Gotha e.V.. This association works tirelessly for terminally ill people and fulfills their last wishes so that they can find comfort and joy in their challenging situation.
The financing of Helping Angels projects is based exclusively on donations and membership fees. Through dedicated efforts in areas such as grief and end-of-life care, as well as the “First Aid Kids” project, the association makes a real difference in the lives of many people. The latter aims to take away children's fear of threatening situations and strengthen them in difficult moments.
Support offers for those who are grieving
Helping Angels Gotha also offers a free meeting point for mourners where they can exchange ideas with other affected people and experienced volunteer grief counselors. These meetings take place every third Friday of the month from 6:00 p.m. in the premises at Kirchplatz 2a, 99869 Emleben. Those who are at least interested are invited to pre-register on 0178 / 6995416 or by email to tragetreff_helpingangels@aol.com in order to be able to talk about their feelings in a protected environment.
The funeral of star children is traditionally held on the last Wednesday in March and September at 12:00 p.m. in the Gotha main cemetery at the butterfly grave. These ceremonies are very special moments of remembrance and shared mourning.
The role of hospice care
In our society, death is often perceived as a distant concept until it suddenly becomes closer with acute illnesses. This is where the need for professional support comes into play. Facilities like that Johanniter promote an open approach to the topic of dying and offer valuable help to relatives and dying people. Support in special phases of life is of great importance, and volunteers also play a central role in hospice work.
But as always, additional financial resources and the commitment of volunteers are essential. Grief management projects, such as the “Pusteblume” children’s hospice or the Wunsch-Ambulance, support affected families and enable them to find support in difficult times.
Overall, the cooperation between the city administration and the Helping Angels Gotha how important it is to actively support social issues and thus give the affected people back some of the joy of life. Here we learn that even in challenging situations, humanity is given great importance. After all, each of us has something to give, be it time, compassion or even financial support.
