Customs afternoon in Breitenbach: A look at the year 1923!

On July 10, 2025, the inhabitants of Breitenbach gave up a piece of their history. In an entertaining customs afternoon, organized by the Heimatstube interest group, visitors learned more about life in 1923. "We wanted to reproduce the stories of our ancestors and bring back a piece of home," said Gudwig, a heart of the interest group, which even activated a small acting group to bring the action onto the stage. Such events are not only important for the community, they also document the development of the village and help to preserve the memories of unforgettable times. Inüdthueringen knows about the importance of these gatherings and recognizes the involvement of the interest group Heimatstube.

Such projects are very popular with the citizens and represent a warm starting point for past times. But there are not only initiatives in Breitenbach that draw attention to rural development. The local action group (LAG) Westrichglantal also relies on civic engagement and provides funding that are primarily intended for volunteer civil projects. A total of 30,000 euros are available here, which are aimed at non-profit associations, citizens' initiatives and non-organized mergers. Up to 3,000 euros can be applied for per project, with the funding rate of up to 100 percent. funding: a foundation for innovative ideas

In order to promote rural life and breathe new life into the regions, the Federal Government supports various programs by the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMLEH). As part of the BULEPLUS program, local actors can test innovative approaches to rural development. The focus is not just on agricultural projects; Digitization, volunteering and mobility are also becoming increasingly important. The aim is to find new solutions and to evaluate and pass on tried and tested ideas for challenges in rural areas. The competence center of rural development (Completion) coordinates and advises in this context, supports the exchange between the actors and ensures that success stories are optimally spread BLE.

whether in Breitenbach with the home room or by supporting the federal and regional groups - the commitment to country life is noticeable. People show that they work creatively to actively shape and maintain their communities. This is an encouraging sign of the future of rural areas and shows that real quality of life in such places can not only become a dream but reality.

If you are interested in applying for funding, you have the opportunity to submit an application by April 19.
