What could be nicer than youth football on a freshly renovated grass field? The time had finally come on September 16, 2025 at the Werner Bergmann Stadium in Hildburghausen. After long years of inactivity, during which the last game took place in 2016, the lawn could now be inaugurated again. There was great joy when the Hildburghausen Eintracht E-III juniors were the first kickers to take the field against Milzer. A great moment for the young players and the community that has been looking forward to this opening for so long. Mayor Patrick Hammerschmidt emphasized the importance of lawn care at the inauguration. It is not just a question of sport, but also shows the joint commitment of the city of Hildburghausen and FSV Eintracht Hildburghausen to the maintenance of the sports facility. Investments in infrastructure are essential steps for better training and playing conditions.

Funding and support

With a project like this, financial resources are of course also important. The total costs for renovating the lawn and installing a new underwater pump amounted to 9,245 euros. It is noteworthy that the Hildburghausen district office supported 3,000 euros in funding, while the Hagebaumarkt Eschenbach even donated 6,000 euros. Mayor Holger Obst thanked him warmly for this practical help and pointed out the progress in the sports sector. This support makes it clear that the community is behind this project and believes in the importance of sport and youth development hildburghausen.de.

But that's not all. Investments will also be made in the floodlight system on the artificial turf pitch, where another LED floodlight is planned for 7,583 euros. The conversion to modern LED technology was initiated in February, and the first lamp was sponsored by Elektro Friedel GmbH.

The renovation and the associated investments not only increase the attractiveness of sport in Hildburghausen, but also secure the future of the local sports clubs. Mayor Hammerschmidt and the club representatives agree: we are on the right track here. Between the opening of the new lawn and the modernization of the artificial turf pitch, the aim is to offer children and young people the best conditions for an active club life.
