The rocking pastor Christian Rämisch says goodbye in Arnstadt!

Ilmenau, Deutschland - On June 30, 2025, the rocking pastor Christian Remisch said goodbye to his role as a youth pastor of the Arnstadt-Ilmenau church district after 15 years. In the Arnstädter Oberkirche he held his last service, slipped into his favorite outfits - jeans and leather jacket - and made the congregation swinged with his musical talent by sang "Imagine" by John Lennon. It was a farewell full of emotions, in which Rämisch revealed his passion and the countless memories of his work. So he always tried to inspire young people for faith and to give them access to the church that goes beyond traditional borders. The local messages of Inüdthüringen impressive.

But June 30 not only marks the end of an era for remic, but also a fresh start for the young generation in the Evangelical Church. The municipalities of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany (EKM) invite you to the Churchnight on October 31. The Reformation Day is to be celebrated differently under the motto "Hell.wach.vangelisch". Not only services are on the program, but also workshops, films and musical actions. A special highlight will be the redesign of some churches to offer young people a new experience. In Ilmenau, for example, the church becomes a chill corner and a cinema area will invite you to linger. The event aims to celebrate the Reformation Day as the birthday of the Evangelical Church in a fresh, colorful framework, such as Kirchenkreis-arnstadt-ilmenau.de

fixed traditions and new ways

As part of the Churchnight, there will also be the opportunity to discuss the historical background of the holiday. State youth pastor Peter Herrfurth emphasizes that the roots of the Reformation Day - known by Martin Luther's theses - must not be forgotten. In many regions, reformation candies or Luther cookies are distributed to children on this day.

Particularly paying attention to youth work, which has recently become more important. In the youth service, on the occasion of the Reformation Day, young people should not only be invited to celebrate, but also stimulate active change. This approach is reflected in the impulse, which is based on Romans 12.2 and, with the help of creative ideas such as bands and various hands -on stations, pursues the goal of actively shaping changes. The preparations are team-oriented and should take place in close cooperation with the young people, as informed.

These developments in the Evangelical Church show that there is an active exchange between tradition and modernity. With an open ear for the needs of young people and a pinch of creativity, the Church is preparing to keep traditions alive and at the same time break new ground. The path that Rämisch has paved will surely inspire many subsequent generations to find their place in the church. Whether in the service or at events such as the Churchnight, one thing is certain: faith can be happy and colorful, and that is what could convey so well.
