On Sunday evening, June 1, 2025, there was a dangerous incident on Autobahn 71 between Meiningen/South and Meiningen/North: Several stones were thrown onto the road from a wild change bridge, which already damaged numerous vehicles. Fortunately, there were no personal injury, but the property damage amounts to around 10,000 euros.

The motorway police have initiated criminal proceedings and continues to investigate. Witnesses who have seen suspicious vehicles or people on the venison at the time of the crime are asked to immediately report to the South Autobahn Police Inspection in Zella-Mehlis on 03681-321325.
