Things are going well in Sonneberg: On Saturday, August 16, 2025, Neufang Zoo is celebrating a very special anniversary. From 1 p.m., all animal lovers and families are cordially invited to celebrate the zoo's 40th anniversary. The zoo, picturesquely located at 650 meters above sea level and spread over around 3 hectares, is home to over 100 animals from 35 different species.
Like every year, the summer festival attracts with a variety of attractions. Visitors can look forward to delicious food, refreshing drinks and a colorful children's program. A tombola provides additional entertainment with lots of prizes to be won. The zoo, which is operated by the property utilization company mbH Sonneberg on behalf of the city, attracts over 20,000 visitors every year - and mainly because families with children find it a great excursion destination.
