Home information app: Sonneberg connects citizens and clubs efficiently!

Sonneberg has put itself on the digital map! The home information app was launched six months ago and has enjoyed great popularity ever since. Almost 5,000 registered users are now a sign that citizens are happy to use this new access to city services. Mayor Dr. Heiko Voigt reports on the positive response across all age groups. The app is a real hit and draws attention to various events, road closures and doctors' on-call services.

The home information app also offers users the opportunity to access bus timetables and garbage collection appointments. All this information is bundled in one place - and that's no coincidence. According to MDR, the app was developed with the aim of making important information, which is often difficult to find, centrally accessible.

Features and Usage

Once downloaded, the app is easy to use. Users need to enter Sonneberg in the placemark and activate the bell to manage their favorites. This means you can stay informed about the latest events in your city at all times.

  • Veranstaltungsmeldungen
  • Push-Nachrichten
  • Mängelmelder
  • Informationen zu Arztbereitschaften

What is particularly noteworthy is that over 40 of the approximately 120 clubs in Sonneberg are taking advantage of the opportunity to register for the test phase of the app. They can now create content independently and point out events. A win-win situation that not only strengthens club life, but also improves communication.

More than just an app

The home information app is developed by a Bavarian company and is the first of its kind in Thuringia. This also shows how important digital solutions are for urban planning and citizen participation. As MobileCity explains, such platforms make a decisive contribution to the active participation of citizens in urban design and strengthen the democratic foundation of our community. Sonneberg shows that digital tools help to make urban development more transparent and inclusive.

The city invests around 600 euros per month in this innovative offer, which can be continuously expanded. In the future, information from the city council is even planned, which should make the app even more attractive.

For everyone who is not yet part of this digital progress: The app is available in both the App Store for iOS and the Play Store for Android. Register today and stay informed about everything important in Sonneberg!

The Heimat-Info app is not only a practical tool for citizens, but also an example of how digital innovations are already being successfully implemented in Germany. Sonneberg shows that a lot can be achieved with a good hand and an open ear for the needs of its residents. There really is something going on here that could bring the city community even closer together!
