Fair season in Neuhaus: Hedgehog and Piesau create a festive atmosphere!

The fair season in Neuhaus am Rennweg is just around the corner: In the coming weeks, the two towns of Igelshieb and Piesau will be transformed into a festive mosaic of music, fun and culinary delicacies. The 69th edition of the Igelshieber fair will be celebrated from July 25th to 27th, 2025. A highlight is the beer tapping on Friday, July 25th at 7:30 p.m., followed by a lively performance by the band “The Luckytones”.

The fair offers a varied program for young and old: On Saturday the festival starts at 2 p.m. with coffee and cake, while the band “Jojozeit” provides the musical accompaniment from 8 p.m. On Sunday from 10 a.m., visitors can round off the festival with a morning pint with “Bochbicher Gaudi musicians”. In terms of cuisine, guests are treated to many delicacies such as dumplings, game goulash and bratwursts.

Piesau fair – another highlight

After the hedgehog slash, the Piesau fair will follow from August 1st to 3rd, 2025, which opens on Friday evening at 7 p.m. Friday evening promises to be a real experience for partygoers with a house and Tekk evening from 8 p.m. Of particular note is the 15th Glassmaking Run, which takes place on Saturday, August 2nd and attracts participants of all ages. The event is recognized as a competition run for the Sparkasse Cup and takes place along the picturesque paths of the Rennsteig.

The start times for the main run are at 9.25 a.m. and for the children's run at 9.30 a.m. Registration is already possible online. The fair company will provide food for the participants throughout the event, so that the athletes can fortify themselves after the competition with regional specialties such as Detscher and bratwurst.

An unforgettable weekend for the whole family

In addition to the glassmaking run, guests can expect an afternoon of children's games on Saturday at the fair from 2 p.m., and in the evening the "Ringo Fischer Band" will provide musical entertainment. The weekend ends on Sunday with folk music from “Rehbachtaler” and “Tettauer Blasmusik” as well as a disco and karaoke evening with “Too late” at 6 p.m.

There is something for everyone in Neuhaus am Rennweg. Preparations are already in full swing as visitors eagerly await the two weekends, which will be full of tradition, social gatherings and unforgettable experiences.
