On this day, a total of ten private gardens in Suhl and Zella-Mehlis open their doors to all garden lovers and curious people. The latter are considered to be the oldest and most beautiful allotment gardens in Suhl, where there are no fences between the plots - this conjures up a park-like atmosphere.

This is an event that is becoming increasingly popular among garden enthusiasts in Thuringia. MDR reports that these events take place regularly from April to September not only in Suhl, but also in many other cities in Thuringia, Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt. Every third Sunday of the month, visitors have the opportunity to view a variety of different gardens, from small home gardens to large landscape gardens. Visitors can discover real treasures, ranging from iris collectors to rhododendron professionals.
