The sticker hype: How My Good Guy” is conquering the world!
An inconspicuous sticker conquers the world! The face of 21-year-old Jonas S. from Blankenhain in Weimarer Land can now be found on stickers in various corners of the world. The sticker with the saying “Mein Guter” is particularly prominent on stops, cars and even tourist highlights such as the Eiffel Tower in Paris and the television tower in Berlin. How the whole thing started was a funny moment at a birthday party in the summer of 2021 when Jonas uttered this saying - and the story has developed rapidly since then. Thüringen24 reports that Jonas, as a construction machinery mechatronics engineer from Blankenhain, is facing unexpected celebrity.
The idea to print the stickers came from Jonas' friend Lorenz, a 22-year-old electrician from Neumark. The day after the birthday party, he put the idea into action and had the first stickers printed. From then on things took off. The friends distributed the stickers in Thuringia and beyond, especially at traffic lights and bus stops. The sticker has quickly become a global trend, with reports of stickers in Dubai, Egypt, Mexico, Amsterdam and Hurghada. There are now over 50,000 stickers in circulation - an impressive success for the two young people! Image adds that Lorenz has set up an Instagram channel to market the stickers, which has almost 7,000 subscribers.
The unwanted celebrity
Although Jonas is surprised by his unwanted fame, he is positive about the phenomenon and has no objections to the stickers. He emphasizes that the stickers are not used to bully, but rather can be viewed as a kind of life help. “My good guy” should stand for laughter and joy of life. Friends and acquaintances have also noticed that the stickers often have a positive effect and make people smile. This means that the sticker is not only a fun idea, but also conveys a relevant message.
It is also interesting that, in addition to the stickers, merchandise such as hoodies and cooking aprons with Jonas' picture are sold. Although the friends are doing good business with this, they have no intention of making a profit. Any surpluses are mainly used for communal celebrations. This relaxed approach is also evident in the preparation of a sticker order for fans from Austria, which further increases international interest in their project. “Our goal is to spread joy and build a community,” explains Lorenz.
Stickers as global ambassadors
The stickers are more than just paper - they are now ambassadors for fun and good mood in many countries. The journey that Jonas and Lorenz have taken with their stickers is not only remarkable, but could also serve as an inspiring example for others who want to start with a simple idea. The future looks exciting for the duo: Over 50,000 stickers are now in circulation, more stickers are already being planned and it remains to be seen where the journey of the “My Good” phenomenon will lead.
The story of Jonas and his sticker inspires people to express themselves creatively. If you want to get a sticker yourself or take a look at the merchandise, you can find everything on the Instagram page “mein.extrem.sehr.guter”. There everyone can immerse themselves in the happy world of “Mein Guter” and perhaps even become part of this extraordinary community themselves.
