Playground sponsorships in Halle: Committed citizens ensure children's laughter!
Things are currently very busy in the colorful city of Halle (Saale), because the voluntary playground sponsors are doing a great job looking after the city's around 130 playgrounds and football pitches. These committed citizens have been committed to ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the playing areas since 2009. For this year “Annual meeting of playground sponsorships” 15 sponsors gathered at the Saline Museum to discuss their concerns with representatives of the city administration.
The city of Halle thanked the committed supporters for their tireless efforts. Monitoring and maintaining the playgrounds is a challenge, but one that can be better managed with the help of the sponsors. They not only ensure the cleanliness of the spaces, but also act as important contacts for the children, parents and the building department by collecting wishes and opinions and taking on care and cleaning tasks.
A look behind the scenes
At the meeting, the developments in playground sponsorships since 2009 were discussed, which have now grown to 35 sponsorships. The city also provided information about current progress in play area design and presented the renovation or construction of ten playgrounds in the last two years. The Children and Youth Council also played a role by actively acting as a tester for the city's playgrounds and soccer fields and thus providing direct feedback.
The topics of the meeting covered important points such as care, maintenance, planning and opportunities for participation in the design of the playgrounds. A new approach that Children's Rights Learning Path, was also presented to raise awareness about child rights. Another goal was to bring more transparency to the administrative processes through the exchange between the volunteers, the city and the users.
Sponsorships by citizens for citizens
The opportunity to sponsor a playground is not only available to individuals; Clubs, kindergartens, schools and companies can also take part in the most important place for playing and learning in the city. The city provides an extended certificate of good conduct free of charge and insures the volunteers through statutory accident insurance. They also receive a certificate and an ID card that mark their valuable role.
A high level of commitment, ideas and promoting identification with the respective playgrounds are goals that the sponsors would like to continue to address. At the meetings, the positive example of other sponsorships is also pointed out, which can provide new motivation and exchange. The city of Halle is proud of its committed citizens and does everything in its power to work with them to make the playgrounds safe and attractive for children and young people.
