Gerda Fischer: 60 years of the CDU – A life for Eberswalde!
In the heart of Barnim, the CDU is celebrating a very special event: Gerda Fischer, a fixture within the district association, looks back on an impressive membership of 60 years. Her journey began in 1965, a time marked by numerous political and social upheavals, including the GDR era and reunification. The chairman of the Barnim district association, Danko Jur, also appreciates this, paying homage to Ms. Fischer's tireless commitment and her influence on the community.
Gerda Fischer will now be recognized for her achievements in a warm ceremony. It is not only an honor with a certificate, but also an opportunity to thank her for the valuable advice and integrity that she has brought to the district association in many functions over the years. Her example shows the importance of bringing people together and fostering a community based on dialogue and mutual understanding.
Political reorientations in Barnim
But the CDU in Barnim is also looking ahead. The CDU district council group recently submitted a proposal to reorganize economic development in the region. Daniel Sauer, the parliamentary group leader, emphasizes the need for comprehensive reform to improve the economic conditions in Barnim. The proposal envisages setting up an economic advisory board and a staff office for economic development at the top of the district administration. The aim of these measures is to strengthen economic development and relieve the burden on the district budget.
As Sauer emphasizes, WITO's current economic development is no longer seen as effective by all municipalities. Some municipalities now view economic development as their own task and use their own resources. A clear approach to business, which is to be organized as a “single point of contact”, is also on the agenda in order to improve communication and optimize processes.
A look at the history of the CDU
But what makes the CDU in Barnim and all of Germany so special? The party's roots go back to the summer of 1945. The CDU emerged out of a need to overcome the sectarian divide in Germany. The “Berlin Founding Call” of June 26, 1945 called for Christian, democratic and social forces to be united and to provide a political home. This commitment to communities and shared values is also reflected in the work of Gerda Fischer, who has been a part of this philosophy for 60 years.
This connection between local involvement and the party's origins shows how important the past is in understanding the present. While the CDU continues to refine its grassroots work and create new structures to promote the economy in Barnim, the commitment to the community remains a central concern. Gerda Fischer's jubilee announcement today is not only a reason to celebrate, but also an inspiration for many who want to continue to actively support politics in Barnim.
A heartfelt thank you to Gerda Fischers for her performance and a look into the future, in which the CDU will continue to actively work on the region's challenges, are the key to success. There is still a lot ahead of us, but with such committed personalities like Gerda Fischer at our side, we can look to the future with optimism.
