Eberswalde-Finow is facing an exciting transformation in the education sector. The Barnim district has awarded the official contract for the construction of the new school campus, a project that is considered the largest of its kind in the region. The Goldbeck company's design paved the way for a modern educational landscape that will offer space for around 1,200 students. How Barnim Current reported, the contract award was announced on September 8, 2025 on the site of the future campus. Mayor Götz Herrmann and District Administrator Daniel Kurth were among those present.
What exactly can Eberswalde students expect in the future? The planned campus combines a high school, a vocational high school and an adult education center and will be equipped with the most modern facilities. Plans include, among other things, a three-field sports hall, an auditorium with 200 seats and a modern cafeteria with fresh food. The grounds will include spacious outdoor facilities and offer plenty of space for learning and spending time. Development city highlights that existing facilities such as the high school will also move to this new campus, which will provide students with a contemporary learning space.
Sustainability in focus
The school campus is particularly notable for its sustainable construction. In addition to green roofs and rainwater retention, photovoltaic systems will also be installed on the site.
