Panketal successfully starts training administrative professionals!
On September 1, 2025, many young people in Germany will start their professional careers, including Lilly Marie Kartschewski and Arne Gärtner, who are now starting their training as administrative assistants in the Panketal town hall. Mayor Maximilian Wonke warmly welcomed the two new trainees and noted that the municipality of Panketal has been providing training positions since 1993. This decision not only supports young talent, but also addresses demographic change and upcoming retirements, among other things.
With a high number of applications, the municipality was able to select the best candidates. Over the next three years, Kartschewski and Gärtner will go through various administrative departments in order to gain comprehensive qualifications. Kartschewski will start in the human resources department and has a particular interest in the public order office, while Gärtner will initially work in the daycare department and has his eyes set on Department I, which deals with the environment, construction and traffic.
The training in detail
The training to become an administrative assistant is dual, which means that theoretical content is taught in the vocational schools in Bernau and Eberswalde. The trainees not only learn office and administrative tasks, but also have to master legal processes and how to use information technology. The tasks include, among other things, processing applications, keeping files and advising citizens - a multifaceted field of activity that requires both responsibility and organizational talent.
Again Career Guide notes, the profession of administrative assistant is considered crisis-proof and is one of the best-paid training paths in Germany. About 5 million people are employed in the public sector, which underlines the relevance of the profession. The training allowance starts at around 1,220 euros in the first year and can increase to up to 1,315 euros by the third year.
Career opportunities and prospects
After successful training, various job opportunities await graduates. Areas such as human resources, administrative law or IT law are open, as are opportunities for advancement to positions such as administrative specialist or business economist. The Career Bible emphasizes that the general conditions in this profession include both regular working hours and numerous further training opportunities.
In addition, the requirements for training are not too high: a secondary school leaving certificate is often desired, and the ability to work in a team, reliability and communication skills are of great importance when it comes to the important soft skills. As a rule, getting started is relatively easy if you can demonstrate motivation in your application.
The decision to train two future administrative assistants in the municipal administration at the same time ensures that fresh knowledge and new perspectives flow into the administration. In this way, the community is trying to optimally meet the challenges of demographic change and lay a good foundation for the future.
