Something is happening in Rathenow: The Rathenow Raccoons are looking for talent search in the field of American football. The local association has set itself the goal of not only promoting enthusiasm for sport, but also gaining active players. The offer includes Jugend Tackle Football and Flagfootball, a low -contact variant that is ideal for younger children. Everyone who is interested in sport are very welcome - preliminary experiences are not necessary.

The association, which was founded in 2021, attracts with an exciting training offer. Children from 8 years of age can participate in the flagfootball, while young people aged 14 and over enjoy the youth Tackle Football. The training times are on Tuesdays and Fridays from 4:30 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. on the sports field in Rathenow Ost. The club currently has 25 children in its ranks, including 8 in the youth Tackle area. This is a nice beginning, but more young people would of course be welcome.

The coaching team consists of licensed trainers who approach the matter with a lot of commitment and fun. The first tournament experiences were gained on June 14, 2025 and the feedback was consistently positive. It is clear: the Rathenow Raccoons have the potential to make a name for themselves in regional sport. In addition, the team is not only open to the youth area, but also seeks adult players aged 18 and over for the Tackle team.

The raccoons with their active teams have now successfully participated in regional and national competitions. In the 2024 season, they celebrated their historic first win in the 5th League Ost and were able to achieve numerous touchdowns. These are all steps in the right direction and show that the club is on the right track to further establish the American football in the Havelland.
