Dream villa on Lake Plauer: Family from Hohen Neuendorf wins lottery!
A completely normal day turns into a true fairy tale for the Benli family from Hohen Neuendorf. Burak Benli, a 51-year-old teacher, won the keys to a dream villa on Lake Plauer with a ticket for 25 euros. The luxurious Bauhaus architecture offers not only four rooms on over 325 square meters, but also a picturesque view of the lake, which will make the heart of every water lover beat faster.
Burak's great luck came during a surprising trip to Turkey when his neighbors told him about the win. The newly acquired villa, which stands on a spacious plot of more than 2500 square meters, is now considered a summer residence. The 51-year-old and his wife Vivien are also considering what should happen to the property in the long term. “We previously lived in our own home for 15 years, which we created with a lot of our own effort,” says Burak, who finds this win particularly fateful because it falls on his late mother’s birthday.
A villa that inspires
The villa, provided by the social lottery “Omaze”, not only has ambitious construction plans, but also won the hearts of many supporters. Barbara Gruner, board member of “SOS Children’s Villages Worldwide”, emphasizes that the combination of competitions and social commitment is of great value for the children and their families. Loud Northern Courier The ticket packages are available from just 10 euros and 21 percent of the proceeds go directly to the organization that supports disadvantaged children. A minimum sum of 500,000 euros is guaranteed for the entire lottery to ensure that financial resources are available for important projects.
The architecture of this dream residence leaves nothing to be desired: it offers a panoramic roof terrace, a sunken living room and luxurious bathrooms. The master bedroom on the upper floor, equipped with a free-standing bathtub, offers a breathtaking view of Lake Plauer. But it's not just the furnishings that are impressive - the sustainable construction with underfloor heating and a solar-supported condensing boiler set new standards. The outdoor area, which is landscaped and has a robotic lawnmower and automatic irrigation, also makes the villa a real gem.
A win with many consequences
However, Burak and Vivien Benli didn't just win the villa. An additional 100,000 euros in cash will go to the family, who now have the opportunity to fulfill their personal dreams. It will be particularly exciting for Burak's son, who plays in the youth department of FC Hansa Rostock. The new villa is ideally located halfway to the games and is therefore the perfect retreat.
The Omaze lottery, which was founded in the USA in 2012 and is now also active in Germany, not only has an architectural masterpiece in store in the recent raffle, but also the potential to increase the willingness to donate in Germany. “Collaboration with Omaze could provide a home for many children,” says Gruner, who is following the developments with excitement. In the spirit of supporting educational programs and protecting children and young people, it remains to be seen how many more projects can be supported through this innovative cooperation and who will be the next to experience such good fortune. The closing date for entries for the lottery was July 27, 2025, and the anticipation of new winners remains great.
