On November 3rd, 2025, the second men's team of SpG Prignitz impressively showed that they are at the forefront in bowling. On the well-kept grounds in the Hotel “Stadt Magdeburg” in Perleberg, where the air smelled of fresh wood and sporting enthusiasm, the team fought for the lead in the 2nd national class. With 5323 wood, SpG Prignitz clearly prevailed against SV Freya Marienwerder, who scored 5086 wood, and KSV Klostefelde with 4277 wood. Nick Ruppert (886 wood), Christopher Ganz (875 wood) and Axel Granzow (890 wood) also contributed significantly to the victory and stabilized the lead at 237 wood. Bowling with tradition

But what makes bowling, especially nine-pin bowling, so special? According to Wikipedia, this discipline, also known as bowling, is very popular in Europe and is enjoyed by around 130,000 players annually. The competitions are exciting as players compete in teams and demonstrate their skills on different track variations. There are classic tracks, board tracks and scissor tracks, all of which have their own charms.

In an international context, bowling is one of the most traditional sports that regularly hosts European championships. In Germany, Austria and numerous other European countries it is a fascinating mix of skill and team spirit. Those in the know know that it's not just performance that counts, but also the right strategy and teamwork. Another advantage of bowling is that you can not only enjoy the competition, but also social tours through the bars and halls, which gives the sport a special social touch.

On the way to the title

The next task for the SpG Prignitz II is on November 15th in Klosterfelde. Another win could mean immediate promotion back to the first division - a goal that the players have worked hard towards. The anticipation for the match is palpable and expectations are high. Results and pictures from the game can be found on the homepage of the district association Kegeln Prignitz.

Overall, it's an exciting year for SpG Prignitz. The sporting achievements and the fight for promotion show that the club is alive and that bowling has a permanent place in the region. Maybe some of you also remember the early years of bowling in the USA, where nine-pin was once popular, but was pushed back by the introduction of ten-pin bowling. However, in Texas there is still a modified version that preserves the personal experience of the game in a special way.

The mix of tradition, team spirit and sporting challenge ensures that bowling remains in the region where it belongs - in the heart of the community. SpG Prignitz impressively shows how you can reach new heights with commitment and passion.
